Thank you for stopping by this page! I absolutely love to research and locate scholarly resources to assist believers in refuting the seemingly convincing narrative that Darwinism proffers - especially if you or your child is attending a secular university! I grew up in the home of a brilliant Marxist atheist (my own father), who did not accept the authority of scripture when it came to arguing for the existence of a personal, all-knowing, omnipresent and omniscient Creator. Herman Ludwig Stroup was very well educated - having read the original works of nearly all the Western philosophers, such as Hume, Nietsche, Aristotle, Plato, Marx, and Kant. When I became a Christian, he employed his keen mind to immediately challenge my beliefs - having made many excellent arguments that supported his atheism. Unfortunately, I was ill-equipped to address his arguments. Later, when I was exposed to Darwinism in college, there were no Christians in my circle who could argue why it did not provide a legitimate mechanism for the origins of life, or the origin of species. Consequentially, I devoted myself to learning everything I could about Darwinism, ultimately viewing the Biblical account of creation with renewed skepticism. I loved Darwinism because of its elegance and promise to provide something like a "theory for everything." Oddly, the more I emerged myself into the studies of molecular/ cellular mechanisms, the more untenable Darwinism became. It was not until I read the book by Michael Behe, Darwin's Black Box, that I realized Darwinian processes could not account for the origin of that first fateful cell (our "common ancestor"), or the rise of evolutionary innovations (such as pentadactyl limbs, air-breathing lungs, internal fertilization, etc.). I have since recognized that Darwinism provides very little explanatory power, and in fact, does not facilitate scientific thought, but stymies it. Interestingly, at the highest levels of academia, Darwinism is seeing some very significant struggles. Top scientists researching the origins of life, have conceded in one way or another that they are finding it increasingly difficult to explain such origins through strictly materialistic processes. Unfortunately, these cracks and fissures that Darwinism is facing do not make their way in the high school or college freshman-level biology textbook (believe me, I just looked at my son's). Fortunately, for the believer struggling with the notion of Darwinism - and whose faith is a little shaken - there are excellent resources that provide scientific reasons to be skeptical. |
